Here at Pearce
Our vision is to look, live, and love like Jesus. We work to fulfill this through our mission to be and make disciples of Jesus that love God and neighbor. And all of this is done through three strategic priorities—Worship, Community, and Service.
“1 for 1” Summer Nursery Opportunity
We want parents to be free to worship and know their children are well cared for, so we’re asking everyone to consider serving in the nursery this summer one time this summer, for one service (“1 for 1”). Pick a time at the summer nursery wall in the lobby after services or click “learn more” below to let Abby Monroe know that you’re available to help.
Each year, Pearce volunteers provide a generous supply of food for over 1,000 individuals through the food cupboard. A great team of volunteers and food donations from our congregation make this outreach possible.
Mobile Food Pantry
In partnership with Foodlink, Pearce hosts Foodlink Mobile Food Pantries once a quarter in our Family Life Center. Everyone in our community is invited to benefit from these pantries which offer free perishable food items to families in need.
Food Service Team
Our Food Service ministry provides food for events at Pearce, from full sit-down dinners to cookie receptions. We have many volunteer openings available—there’s something cooking daily!
We have many tech needs in our weekend services. We utilize video operators, sound engineers, and slide operators. We have growing needs for video production and operation, as well as sound development and operators. If you have a desire to grow in any of these areas, we encourage you to become part of our tech team.
Stephen Ministers provide one-on-one confidential care to people who are facing overwhelming needs: hospitalization, grieving, suffering, loneliness, divorce, unemployment, accidents, etc.
Mission Garage Sale
Thank you to everyone who gave of their time and talents, donated items, and shopped at our 2019 Mission Garage Sale! We raised $20,700 (before expenses), to go to local and global missions.
We are hiring an evenings and weekends Facilities Team Leader and a part-time evenings and weekends cleaner. Working on this team is more than a job. We believe we’re creating the kind of warm, welcoming environment that can give hope to everyone who visits our building. Send your resume to Bob Antes at 594-9488 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Journey Teens Leader
As a church committed to making disciples that love God and neighbor, we believe one of our greatest privileges is to journey with teenagers as they grow to look, live, and love like Jesus. We are always looking for people to join us on this incredible adventure. We have several volunteer roles from greeter to small group leader. If you love teens, we would encourage you to join our team.
Neighborly Help is a branch of Pearce Men’s Ministry made up of teams of men who help widows, widowers, seniors, single parents, and others who find themselves in need because of “stage of life” situations.
Ushers & Greeters
Friendly greeters help guide guests to the right location and ushers hand out bulletins with information on the service and what’s happening at Pearce.
Approximately 1,000 boxes, containing generous amounts of food and a frozen turkey, are distributed in November to families in the greater Rochester region.
Journey Kids Leader
As a church committed to making disciples that love God and neighbor, we believe one of our greatest privileges is to journey with kids as they grow to look, live, and love like Jesus. We are always looking for people to join us on this incredible adventure. We have several volunteer roles from greeter to small group leader. If you love kids, we would encourage you to join our team.
This is a behind the scenes, but very important job! Every week, we have volunteers who check every pew to remove trash and refill comment cards, giving envelopes, and assure the pencils are sharp.
At Pearce, we have many opportunities to get involved with music ministry. From our traditional Sanctuary Choir to the contemporary Worship Team, there is a place for everyone to use their musical gifts in a church setting. We are always looking for new people to join the traditional choir, praise choir, contemplative worship team, and the contemporary worship team. Whether you sing or play an instrument, we would love to have you join one of our teams!
Pearce Mission House
The Mission House serves missionaries home on furlough and others in need of temporary housing. Mission House expenses are part of the mission budget.
We want everyone to feel welcome here at Pearce from the moment they drive into our parking lot. Attendants assure that everyone safely crosses Orchard Street and also help assist those in need at our traffic circle, located outside of our Common Grounds Café.
Operation Christmas Child
Pearce participates each year in preparing and collecting shoe boxes filled with gifts for children in developing countries. Filled boxes are distributed through Operation Christmas Child.
