Multi-faceted

Jesus said, “I have come into the world, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” (John 12:46)
Our Pearce mission is to encourage individuals living in Rochester and around the world to move into a
relationship with God and experience the light of His love.

Our efforts to accomplish this mission are multi-faceted.

 Local Mission focus:

  • The Heart & Soul Free Methodist Church – Pearce volunteers assist regularly with the Sunday children’s ministry, with a Saturday community food distribution, and have helped both financially and by construction labor in the refurbishing of the church located on North Clinton Avenue in Rochester. (http://heartandsoulchurch.com/home)
  • Food Cupboard Ministry – Each year Pearce volunteers provide a generous supply of food for over 1,000 individuals through the food cupboard. A great team of volunteers and generous food donations from our congregation make this outreach to needy families possible.
  • Clothing Distribution Ministry – Clean used clothing is collected in the west wing of Parmerter Chapel, and the clothing is distributed to several of Rochester’s mission locations.
  • Aurora Hospice House – Over the last few years Pearce has provided funding and logistical support for the construction of the Aurora Hospice House located on Union Street in Spencerport. The two-bed hospice center will be open this summer to serve the needs of the dying and their families. Volunteer opportunities will be numerous for those individuals from Pearce. • Habitat For Humanity – Every other year Pearce participates with a Westside coalition of churches for the construction of a home for a needy family in Rochester.
  • Thanksgiving Baskets – Approximately 400 boxes containing generous amounts of food and a frozen turkey are distributed in November to families in the greater Rochester region.
  • Samaritan’s Purse – Pearce participates each year in preparing and collecting boxes filled with gifts for children in developing countries that are distributed through Operation Christmas Child. (www.samaritanspurse.org)
  • Angel Tree – Pearce families purchase Christmas gifts for children whose parent is in the State prison system.
