We just returned to Malawi from a two-week, four-country visit. We see many good things happening in Southern Africa. There are problems, of course, but we know Who wins the battle in the end.
We leave next week for four weeks in the Middle East. We will visit our church plants in Amman, Jordan and our church planting projects in Kurdistan, Iraq, and encourage them and the leaders from Baghdad who will join us there. We go from Iraq to Cairo where Henry will be teaching a MA level course on Pastoral Theology for Egyptian Free Methodist pastors. This will be a five day (all day, every day) intensive class. From Egypt we stop in Kenya for two days with our missionaries there on the way back to Malawi.
We would appreciate your prayers for the journey listed above, to the Middle East. Also for the churches in Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Malawi, and Ethiopia where there are significant spiritual battles raging. Pray for the missionaries and the church leaders in these places.
In July we will be transitioning out of Free Methodist World Missions. We have served in Africa for nearly 29 years plus another two years in the head office. Though we are “old enough,” we are not retiring. We have accepted the pastorate at the Winona Lake Free Methodist Church and will stay there as long as the Lord gives us health and ability. This will be a very big move for us and we will have a steep learning curve. We pastored for 13 years before coming to Africa, but it has been a long time ago and much has changed. We want to thank our many friends at Pearce for your faithful support.
We have enjoyed meeting with you and have relied on your prayers. Thank you, and may God bless you for the blessing you have been to us.
